FAQ

Map Finder questions

Where does the data come from?

From OpenStreetMap, the open, community-built map of the world — the same data behind many apps and websites. We read the public business listings (name, category, phone, website, address). For email we read each business's own published website. We don't scrape Google Maps or private profiles.

Will it find every business in an area?

OpenStreetMap is comprehensive in many places but coverage varies — some towns are richly mapped, others less so. So treat results as a strong, free starting list rather than a guarantee of every single business. Trying a nearby larger town or a more specific niche often surfaces more.

How do I get the email?

Some businesses publish their email straight on the map. For the rest, click Get email on any result that has a website — we read that site's own pages for the email, phone and social links they list publicly.

Which niches work best?

Common local types — dentist, doctor, plumber, electrician, restaurant, cafe, hotel, gym, hair salon, solicitor, accountant, estate agent, marketing agency and many more. The example chips above are a good place to start.

Can I use this for cold outreach?

Yes, for legitimate B2B outreach — but follow the rules in each country (clear sender identity, an easy opt-out, relevant targeting). Don't blast generic mail to everyone.
